· Receiving food staff dedicated for animals around the zoo.
· Keep and store food properly.
· Prepare animal diet according to formulation done by V.H.C.
· Adjust amount and types of food as per instructions.
· Prepares food for charges by chopping or grinding meat, fish, fruit, or vegetables; mixing prepared, dry, or liquid commercial feeds; or enabling forage grasses.
· Prepares food and feeds large and small carnivores according to established diets and assigned schedule.
· Researches and recommends diet changes based on time of the year and the behavior and body condition of animals.
· A large percentage of duties are performed indoor.
· Considering bite size per each animal if needed.
· Maintenance of Food preparation Facility.
· Reporting to supervisor.
· Adds vitamins or medication to food as prescribed by Vets under supervision of supervisor if needed.
· Cleans up using water, disinfectant and detergents.
· Inspects Kitchen daily for security and reports required repairs; determines the safety of machines before and after using.
· Maintain the highest level of safety in the work area through implementation of safety protocols and procedures to ensure safety for him and colleagues.
· Completes daily worksheets listing amount of food received and hand over sheet, etc.
· Actively foster constructive attitudes and a team orientation among staff.
· Support the goals of EPZ departments’ collection plan, strategic and Master Plans.
· A large percentage of duties are performed indoor.
· Other duties as assigned.
